Sources: Aston Villa to let Bradley Burrowes go after move gets green light

Aston Villa are expecting to let Bradley Burrowes go after receiving offers for him in the closing stages of the window, sources have told Football Insider.

A number of clubs across the Football League, notably in League One and the Championship, are preparing offers for the 18-year-old after being made aware of his availability.

The winger has impressed during his time in Aston Villa's academy, and has impressed watching scouts with his performances in the last 12 months.

Burrowes has just one senior appearance to his name, but was an unused substitute during their UEFA Supercup defeat to PSG and Premier League defeat to Brighton.

As a result, Aston Villa are aiming to secure him a positive loan move before the window closes, as they hope to see him continue his development with regular game time.

Burrowes put pen to paper on a new contract at Aston Villa in March, and is extremely highly rated at Villa Park, with a loan move seen as the ideal next step.

Aston Villa are keen to secure loan moves for a number of young stars before the close of the window, as Football Insider revealed Tommi O'Reilly will join Doncaster Rovers.

Burrowes is now likely to become the latest academy gem to leave Villa Park in search of first-team football, with the club holding out high hopes for his development.

A move to the Championship or League One is seen as the ideal next step for the winger, who will look to prove himself against senior oposition.

Last season, he made 23 appearances across all competitions for the academy sides, where he scored 18 goals and provided five assists, impressing potential suitors.

Those displays also earned him regular involvement with Unai Emery's first-team squad, both on the training ground and in multiple matchday squads.

Aston Villa have now decided that the time has come for him to head out in search of regular football, and will weigh up a number of options before deciding on his future.

Alongside their plans to send Burrowes on loan, Aston Villa are aiming to strenghten their squad out wide, which would likely push the teenager down the pecking order.

Emery is determined to strengthen his squad before the 1 September deadline, having lost a number of star players, and they are now aiming to land incoming deals.

Former Aston Villa scout Bryan King told Football Insider on 27 August that the Villans are plotting a move to sign Rafael Leao, but could also look to bring Jack Grealish back.

Grealish is set to be allowed to leave Man City this summer, with Everton and Sunderland currently among his admirers, but a return to Villa Park could be on the cards.

While a move for Leao is considered more likely at this stage after talks with AC Milan, the Villa academy graduate could make what would be a surprise return to Villa Park.
