Stefan Borson reacts to unexplained Company House update at Aston Villa
Aston Villa's updates to Company House accounts are "not anything to be concerned about" despite unexplained changes emerging.
That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that it's "unclear" what the internal reorganisation could mean for the Villans.
It was pointed out on social media that both Aston Villa Limited and NSWE Stadium Holdings Limited were added as persons with significant control on 28 July.
This has left the majority of supporters scratching their heads at Villa Park, having seen those two names removed from the Company House accounts previously.
In 2025, the ownership structure was reorganised. NSWE Holdings Limited was created, and assets such as the women's team and The Warehouse were moved higher up the group into that wider holding structure.
This will all mean very little to the average football fan, but nonetheless, when something is not understood, it often leads to concern and fear.
What do the changes mean at Aston Villa?
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, though, Borson has relieved any worries about negative repurcussions from the update, but stated that it remains unclear.
"The stadium was transferred out a years ago when you were able to do that. It's unclear to be honest what's happened at this stage," he said.
"There's not anything to be concerned about. It'll be some kind of internal reorganisation that will become apparent over the next few months.
"When we do get the accounts, we'll learn a little bit more about what that's all about. It is what it says in the filing, which is that the holding company of that entity has changed.
"I don't think anyone knows right now because the club hasn't talked about it. It's just not completely clear.
"It means only at the moment what it says on the form, which is the change of the significant ownership."
