Aston Villa fans are less than impressed after it emerged that Arsenal believe that they can sign England international Ezri Konsa for just £35million this summer.

Reports have emerged that the Gunners are interested in the 28-year-old and know that the Birmingham outfit need to sell players this summer.

The centre-back has two years left on his deal, and Arsenal believe that £35m could do the trick.

However, Aston Villa value him considerably higher, and the Villa Park faithful are baffled that the Premier League champions thought they could sign the defender for such a low price.

Konsa has been one of Villa’s most important players in recent years and was crucial in their route to winning the Europa League last season.

Arsenal have also been heavily linked with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers this summer as they look to defend their title.

Aston Villa fans baffled by £35m Ezri Konsa claim

In recent years, Konsa has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best centre-backs.

The 28-year-old helped guide Villa back to the Champions League last season, with his form earning him a place in England’s starting XI this World Cup.

Therefore, when the Daily Mail reported that Arsenal believe £35m would be enough to secure his signature this summer, Villa fans were baffled.

As a result, many fans took to X on Friday to mock the Gunners’ valuation as they struggle to sign any of their Villa Park targets.

How good has Konsa been in the 2026 World Cup?

So far this World Cup, Konsa has been solid for England.

The defender has helped keep two clean sheets, with the Three Lions now through to the round of 16.

According to Fotmob on 3 July, his stats are also highly impressive from the summer tournament.

Per 90 minutes, he has averaged a 0.16 xG, 0.50 shots, a 97.3 passing accuracy, 3.75 duels won, 2.00 fouls won and 0.00 times dispossessed.

Therefore, if he keeps up these types of performances, the £35m claim by Arsenal only looks stranger.

However, it remains to be seen where Konsa will be playing his football in the 2026-27 campaign, with plenty of the summer transfer window left to go.
