Tosin Adarabioyo 'keen' on completing Aston Villa move
Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo is "keen" on a move to Aston Villa ahead of the transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.
Villa have identified the 28-year-old as a possible option to replace Ezri Konsa, while Portuguese giants Benfica are also keen on the defender.
Chelsea are keen to offload Tosin before the 1 September deadline, and he was absent from the matchday squad for their recent win at Fulham.
Sources have indicated that the chance to stay in the Premier League and play Champions League football at Villa Park would be appealing for the player.
The former Fulham man would also be open to the idea of joining Benfica and working with his former manager Marco Silva once again.
Tosin made 35 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions last term, but just 16 of those came in Premier League action.
Tosin part of Aston Villa's centre-back plan
Villa are prioritising a move to add to their centre-back options after losing Konsa to Arsenal, and they are keen to keep several avenues open at this stage.
Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Unai Emery is hopeful that he could potentially even welcome two new centre-backs into his squad before the deadline.
Tosin is currently part of a three-man shortlist for the Villans alongside Southampton's Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Club Brugge starlet Joel Ordonez.
He boasts more proven Premier League experience than the other two candidates, and also ticks the box of being available, with Chelsea looking to move him on.
It remains to be seen whether Villa will make their move in time ahead of the deadline, but if they do, then it is a deal that Tosin would be keen to make happen.
Nicolas Jackson close to agreeing terms
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Wednesday that Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is close to agreeing personal terms over a move to Villa.
The two clubs have been closely linked in terms of their transfer business this summer, and there could yet be more deals between them before the deadline.
Chelsea are holding out for £65million for Jackson, with Villa reportedly working on a structured deal to secure his signature.
The player's terms are on the verge of being agreed, which leaves the fee as the only thing to be settled ahead of the transfer.
