Tyrone Mings continues to play an important role in the Aston Villa squad, but he might be about to call time on his time in B6.

While the central defender often found himself on the treatment table at Bodymoor Heath, when he was fit and available, Unai Emery was eager to get the veteran on the pitch.

The 33-year-old clearly remains a much-loved figure at Villa Park, getting fully involved in the team's celebrations as they lifted the Europa League trophy against Freiburg earlier this month.

Villa's transfer chiefs are likely to be very busy during the summer window, and given the latest news, Emery might be searching for a new experienced head to be a big voice in the dressing room.

Tyrone Mings may have played his final Aston Villa game

Although Mings appears to have returned to full fitness in recent weeks, it is likely that he'll become well acquainted with the substitutes bench if he stays at Villa Park next season.

Now, Fanatik (30 May) are reporting that Besiktas are eyeing a deal for the centre-half and want a deal done in a "short time," which would bring an end to the player's seven-year spell in the West Midlands.

It is understood that the player is currently valued at around £3.5million, and with another year remaining on his contract, the Villans should see some money from his departure should a move materialise.

Mings has given a lot to the club during his seven permanent years at Villa Park, clearly loving his time after a season-long loan from Bournemouth in 2019. He hasn't looked back since.

Who else could join the veteran through the Villa Park exit doors?

Mings is unlikely to be the last player to leave Villa Park this summer.

Emi Martinez, Amadou Onana and John McGinn are all linked with exits, and it is understood that Villa are open to offers for Morgan Rogers, already resigned to losing the England international.

Ollie Watkins continues to be linked with a move away, even after a disappointing six months before finally rediscovering his shooting boots in B6.

Despite winning the Europa League, there is absolutely no guarantee that Villa will be able to hold onto all of their big-name stars, with Emery's future also not certain due to ongoing rumours.
