Leeds fans are delighted that Steve McClaren has been reportedly ruled out of being the next manager. Thomas Christiansen was sacked by Leeds on Sunday night after a terrible run of results. That led to heavy speculation that Steve McClaren was being lined up to be the next manager after he was spotted in the director's box at Leeds on Saturday. However, according to Phil Hay, a senipr journalist with the Yorkshire Evening Post, McClaren is "definitely" not the next Leeds manager. Hay explained he was just there as a guest on Saturday and that Leeds do have someone else lined up and are expected to make their appointment in the next 24 hours.

Definitely won't be Steve McClaren. He was there on Saturday as a guest of Christiansen's assistant, Paul Butler. Christiansen took training yesterday before parting company with Leeds. Players not in today but Leeds trying to get an appointment finalised in the next 24 hours.
