Axel Disasi is ‘happy’ at West Ham as permanent Chelsea exit lined up

Axel Disasi is keen to sign a permanent deal at West Ham United but a move will hinge on their Premier League status ahead of next season.

Disasi has found form since joining West Ham on loan in January after failing to feature for Chelsea during the first half of the campaign.

The Frenchman’s performances have alerted other clubs across Europe and in the Premier League to his potential availability this summer.

He is set to be sold by Chelsea this summer, and as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, would be content to stay at West Ham if they stay up this season.

West Ham’s transfer plans will be dictated by whether they survive relegation, with their latest loss to Arsenal plunging their future into further uncertainty with two games left to play.

Axel Disasi is enjoying his time at West Ham and is keen on permanent stay

Sources have revealed to Football Insider that Leeds are interested in Disasi as they look to bolster their centre-back options this summer.

The 28-year-old has started 12 consecutive league matches since joining West Ham, but has no future at Chelsea despite being under contract until 2029.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “West Ham would love to keep him on a permanent basis and it does seem that Disasi is happy and has really enjoyed his time at the London Stadium.

“He’s become a big fan’s favourite already there as well, so if West Ham can stay up they’ll be hoping they could keep him, but if they do go down, I would say a permanent move is unlikely.”

West Ham set new asking price for Mateus Fernandes as Man United eye move

Fernandes missed a golden opportunity to put the Hammers ahead against Arsenal on Sunday before Leandro Trossard scored a vital late winner.

Aside from that miss, the Portuguese midfielder has been one of West Ham’s best performers this season and is on the radar of several top clubs ahead of the summer window.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that the Hammers want at least £84million for Fernandes in the coming months, with Man United and Man City both previously linked to his services.
