Bailey handed crushing new blow after Aston Villa latest - pundit
Noel Whelan has admitted his heart bleeds for Leon Bailey after a fresh injury setback at Aston Villa.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker suggested the 24-year-old’s confidence would take a hit after such an impressive start to his Villans career.
As confirmed on Thursday (23rd September), Bailey has been ruled out until after the October international break with a thigh strain.
The Jamaica international made an eye-catching cameo in his last appearance for Villa.
He came off the bench to assist and score in the 3-0 win over Everton before going off injured.
Bailey revealed he caused the damage by striking the ball too hard when netting his first goal in claret and blue.

The winger has endured a stop-start beginning to life at Villa Park.
He was forced to sit out games against Newcastle and Brentford with a hamstring injury.
Whelan insisted Bailey could not have asked for a better cameo performance against Everton.
However, he admitted the injury would be a big blow both mentally and physically for the summer signing.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “As a player, personally, you couldn’t have asked for a better start when you come on.
“You’re getting that goal, you’re getting the assist, fantastic.
“All of a sudden, you get this setback. It’s one of the most frustrating things in football for a player.
“You’re going to have to find that belief, that confidence and that fitness level back again. That’s more frustrating.“
Bailey has played three times for Villa since his move from Bayer Leverkusen.
