Baldock 'perfect for Celtic' as Postecoglou reportedly approves bid - pundit
Noel Whelan has claimed Sheffield United defender George Baldock would be a “perfect” signing for Celtic this summer.
The former Aberdeen striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the right-back would be “fantastic” at both ends of the pitch for the Bhoys.
As reported by the Sheffield Star on Thursday (July 1st), Ange Postecoglou has given the green light for Celtic to launch a bid for Baldock.
It is said the Hoops are prepared to pay up to £8million for the 28-year-old.
However, the report states that may not be enough to convince the Blades to sell.
Whelan admitted Baldock would be a serious improvement in defence for Celtic.

However, he insisted the Sheffield United star would add some quality in attack as well.
“I think what you get from him is consistency and aggressive nature,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“Fantastic going forward and a good defender in one-v-one situations. He is a good player, let’s take nothing away from the way they went down last year.
“Over the time he’s been at Sheffield United, he has been a real competitor and one of the better players there.
“He was one of the most consistent players there, he loves to get forward, he’s got that box-to-box mentality, he’s aggressive.
“He would be perfect for Celtic, he’d be an amazing signing. I know it’s not the final third, your wingers, your strikers, your number 10s.
“But by heck, I tell you what, if we talk defensively, he would make them better, no doubt.”
