Bayern Munich are one of the sides showing interest in signing Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier this summer, Football Insider understands.

The German outfit are looking to sign a new shot-stopper this window as Manuel Neuer continues to recover from a broken leg.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (19 August) that Leeds are still planning to sell Meslier before the 1 September deadline.

The Yorkshire club have agreed to keep Meslier in the side in order to keep him in the shop window this summer.

Premier League interest is dwindling in Meslier with many top-flight clubs already rectifying their goalkeeper situations earlier in the window.

It is understood that there is background interest from Chelsea, but the Blues have a number of other goalkeepers ahead of him on their shortlist.

Football Insider revealed last month (28 July) that Leeds will ask for bids of between £20-25million for Meslier.

Meslier started for Daniel Farke's side in their 1-1 draw with West Brom at Elland Road on Friday night, and the Frenchman made a stunning save in the match to deny Jed Wallace.

Meslier has kept 30 clean sheets for Leeds in 129 appearances after joining the club in 2019 from French side Lorient.

Leeds spent £400,000 to sign Karl Darlow from Newcastle United this summer after losing Joel Robles on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old could become the number-one choice at Elland Road should Leeds receive a suitable offer for Meslier in the coming days.
