BBC: Leeds in line to recall frozen out player to starting XI against Burton
By Harry Sykes
Charlie Taylor is in line for a recall to the Leeds United team for their pivotal Championship clash at Burton on Saturday, according to a report.
The BBC Sport website claims the left-back is “pushing hard” to start the fixture at the Pirelli Stadium after four consecutive matches on the substitute’s bench.
The Leeds academy product has struggled to win back a regular place in Garry Monk’s side since returning in early March from an achilles problem that had sidelined him for nearly three months.
The Englishman has been on the bench for Leeds’ last four fixtures against Leeds, Newcastle, Preston and Brentford, with Gaetano Berardi preferred at left-back even though he is a right-back by trade.
Luke Ayling has nailed down the other full-back position, which has made it hard for Taylor to force his way back in for the promotion hopefuls.

But Leeds’ shock defeat at Wolves on Monday has paved the way for a shake-up in the team and a recall for the 23-year-old.
Monk has admitted that the seventh-placed Yorkshire giants could need to win their three remaining league fixtures this season to secure the play-off spot that has been within their grasp for months.
Burton are fighting to avoid relegation, but have built up some distance from the drop zone with some solid results and are 19th in the table and four points from 22nd.
Taylor is out of contract at Leeds at the end of the season and talks about an extension have failed to get off the ground.
The defender was reportedly the subject of considerable interest in the January window, with the Guardian reporting that the Championship promotion challengers knocked back offers of £7million from not only West Brom, but two other Premier League clubs in Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace.
However, Leeds will be powerless to stop Taylor from leaving in the summer even though they will be entitled to a considerable compensation fee as he is a product of their prolific academy.
In total, the 2015-16 Leeds player of the year has started 25 of their 41 Championship matches this season.
In other Leeds United team news, the club have done the deal for an out-of-window transfer of a midfield player.
