BBC pundit believes a huge number of players will be leaving Rangers this summer

BBC pundit and former striker Steven Thompson believes at least 10 players will be leaving Rangers this summer in a huge overhaul by manager Pedro Caixinha.
The Ibrox giants have had a wretched first season back in the Premiership and they are currently dwelling in third place with just four matches left to play.
The club did bring in a grand total of 11 players during the past summer, but many have failed to make an impact in Scotland, while some have even left.
Now, Thompson believes Caixinha will be looking to move out a lot of his current players in the next window and has predicted “at least 10.”
“I’m going to go for a draw,” started Thompson speaking on BBC Sport Scotland on Friday when predicting the Rangers result against Partick Thistle on Sunday.

“I think Rangers over the course of the last two games. What can be said that’s not already been said. Two abject performances, two rubbish performances and they have to show a reaction I think.
“But, I don’t know. There’s something not quite right at Ibrox at this minute in time.
“There’s always ways to move players on and I think there will be a huge turnaround. I think it’s up to the players agents once they’re told they’re no longer wanted at the club to then try and find a club and then you negotiate a pay off to move on.
“But, I think there’s going to at least be 10 going out. The players that are there that Mark Warburton signed are not good enough to put Rangers where they want to be.
“There’s always a way. If a player’s not going to be playing at the club and they make that clear as a person you’re saying to yourself ‘I’m not playing here, I’m going to go and play.’ These are young guys with big careers. The money isn’t everything. They’ll weigh it up and they may get a little pay off from Rangers just to go, so there’s always a sweetener.
“I think the club are massively developing. The problem is, is the money there? I’m not sure it is. If it is there how much are they going to get to spend. It’s actually going to be fascinating watching Caixinha build his team. It really is.”
A minimum of 10 leaving would indicate a huge number of departures and just last summer Rangers let go of eight of their senior players on free transfers.
The club are clearly trying a number of methods to try and close the 36-point gap between themselves and fierce rivals Celtic and there has also been talk of a director of football incoming.
However, one question remains and that is how much money there is available to Caixinha to make his changes.
