BBC pundit and former midfielder Leon Osman has told that Tottenham star Christian Eriksen deserves to be linked to the “top teams” due to his form this season.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has hit some fine form in recent months, returning three goals and four assists in Spurs’ last eight Premier League matches.
This has seen reports emerge that La Liga giants Barcelona are eyeing the Denmark international to add to their already impressive attack.
Now, Spurs fans and the club will undoubtedly want to keep hold of their star, but Osman feels as though the attacker deserves to be linked with a move to a “top team.”
“When this team needed somebody to stand up and score that crucial goal he stepped up and was fantastic,” told Osman when speaking on BBC One’s Football Focus on Saturday morning in reference to Eriksen’s goal against Crystal Palace in midweek.
“He has been all season and he deserves to be linked with the top teams that are coming after him should we say.”
Eriksen has been at Tottenham since the summer of 2013 after completing an £11million deal from Dutch giants Ajax.
He has emerged as one of the clubs consistent performers during his four years within the team and this season he has returned 12 goals and 20 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
The playmaker does however still have three years remaining on his contract at Tottenham, meaning Spurs still have a huge say over his future regardless if he is linked with a move away.
