BBC Sport pundits Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have both taken to social media to slam the antics of Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli in the club’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Spurs left it late to secure victory over their fellow London side, with Harry Kane notching up his 35th goal of the season across all competitions in the 88th to bag the three points and ensure that the club remain fourth in the Premier League table.
However, while the English striker’s late goal will grab the headlines, it was the display of his team mate for both club and country which had the Match of the Day pundits reacting on Twitter, as they accused him of trying the con the referee with a dive against the Eagles.
Shearer put on his personal Twitter account that it was a “blatant dive” after Lineker had handed the 21-year-old the nickname “Divey Alli”, before going on to state that he “needs to work on his technique. Seems to consistently anticipate contact rather than wait for it.”

Alli has been at the centre of controversy for his alleged attempts of simulation, and has found himself booked twice this season for trying to deceive officials.
He has made 36 appearances across all competitions during the current campaign, scoring nine goals and chipping in with 13 assists for his team mates.
