Liverpool are currently the favourites to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have priced the Merseyside giants as 5/2 favourites to land the 26-year-old French striker before the end of the summer transfer window on September 3.
Jurgen Klopp’s team are however closely followed by Premier League rivals Arsenal, who are priced at 3/1 with the Gunners reported to have been long-term admirers of forward.
Meanwhile, Manchester United fall someway off with odds of 12/1 with Chelsea, Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain all priced at 14/1 respectively.
Lacazette has caught the attention of some of England’s biggest clubs with a stunning return of 129 goals in 275 appearances in total for Lyon.
This season alone he has scored a very impressive 37 goals in 45 fixtures in all competitions and Liverpool, who have played the majority of the season with usual midfielder Roberto Firmino in the striker role could certainly be tempted by a move for Lacazette.
The European goal machine has entered the final two years of his contract at Lyon and in May the forward confirmed that he would be leaving the club after 14 years.
Lacazette will now be looking at potential new destinations and Liverpool, who will be playing in the Champions League once again next season could certainly look an attractive proposition.
In other Liverpool transfer news, Mohamed Diame has told that he believed a move to the Reds was done.
