Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand is the second most likely player to join Tottenham this summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Paddy Power have priced the 27-year-old left-back at odds of 9/1 to make the move to the north London club in either a loan or permanent deal.
Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha is the current favourite to join Tottenham at odds of 11/2, while Everton midfielder Ross Barkley trails behind and alongside Bertrand at 9/1.
Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe (17/1) is some way behind the trio, while Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw and Celtic’s Moussa Dembele also fall down the order at 20/1.
Bertrand made the move to Southampton after Mauricio Pochettino left the south coast, but the former Chelsea man fits the methods of the club’s English core.
Three Lions stars Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier and Danny Rose are already in the Spurs squad and there have been regular links towards moves for Barkley and Burnley defender Michael Keane.
Tottenham have also reportedly been interested in Shaw, who did perform for Pochettino when the duo were at Southampton, meaning that the Argentine could be in the market for a left-back to improve on Ben Davies as the backup to Rose.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Pochettino has revealed what Daniel Levy has told him about the club’s summer plans.
