A section of Leeds United supporters have gone into meltdown on social media following new manager Marcelo Bielsa’s comments to the media regarding the club’s policy over transfers this summer.

According to the 62-year-old Whites boss, he is happy with his squad and will not be making many new acquisitions to his side, (source: Yorkshire Evening Post on Twitter).

But supporters are livid after hearing this as they think that the team is in need of a complete overhaul following a disappointing second half of the season.

Leeds had one of the worst records in the championship after the Christmas period and had they not had such a good start to the season their league position could have been a whole lot worse.

There’s been a lot of speculation about potential new arrivals at Elland Road this summer, including division’s top scorers, Hull City’s Abel Hernandez (source: Yorkshire Evening Post), and Derby County’s Matej Vydra, (source: Derbyshire Live).

You would think that given the reaction from some supporters that Bielsa had said there would be no arrivals at all, so disappointed were their responses on Twitter.

Some fans dramatically called for the head of the new boss after his transfer revelation and questioned whether the 62-year-old had actually seen Leeds in the previous campaign, clearly unimpressed by his words.

Here is a selection of reactions on social media from supporters in response to their manager’s revelation:
