Rangers will sell Alfredo Morelos if a “big offer” comes in as expected this summer, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Aberdeen striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested interest would be growing in the 24-year-old after another prolific season at Ibrox.
Speaking to BT Sport after Thursday’s 5-2 win over Antwerp, Gerrard hinted Morelos enjoyed playing in the Europa League due to the attention and coverage it garnered.

The Colombia international, who scored at Ibrox, played a part in eight of Rangers’ nine goals across the two legs against the Belgians.
Morelos has netted 13 goals and contributed a further 12 assists across all competitions for the Gers this season.
Whelan admitted the hitman’s performances would only catch the eye of other clubs, especially on the European stage.
“I think whenever you’ve got a goalscorer, and one that’s been prolific for a number of seasons like Alfredo Morelos, there’s going to be interest in every window,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“If a big offer comes in, and it will, I think it’d be very hard for Rangers to turn down. I think that is inevitable. Yes, they’re a giant of a club in Scotland but financially, we all need that little bit of help.
“If you’ve got a player that is somebody that is a commodity, that can generate that amount of revenue with one sale then it’s hard not to look any further than letting them go.
“You can build and put that money into sustaining the football club. You can put that money into maybe three or four players out there on the field.
“He’s served his time at Rangers, he’s been there a long time. He’s given them lots of highs, some headaches along the way. If he does leave, the club buying him know what’s in his makeup.”
Gerrard told BT Sport: “He likes this competition and I know why he likes this competition.”
Asked if he was alluding to the people who watch the tournament, a smirking Gerrard replied: “Mmm, hmm.”
