Sources: Ex-Arsenal forward Amaechi undergoing Bolton Wanderers trial

Ex-Arsenal forward Xavier Amaechi is undergoing a Bolton Wanderers trial, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The England Under-20 international has been given the green light to leave German second-tier club Hamburg.

A Bolton source has told Football Insider that the club have taken Amaechi on trial as they plot a potential move.

The forward, 20, spent last season on loan at Karlsruher but struggled for game time.

He has a Hamburg contract that runs until 2023 but could now be set for a return to England two years after quitting Arsenal in a £2million deal.

Ameachi made five senior appearances during his time at Hamburg.
