Bournemouth vs Leeds United ref watch – Three decisions Michael Salisbury got wrong, including David Brooks incident
AFC Bournemouth and Leeds United played out a 2-2 draw on Wednesday at the Vitality Stadium.
After a poor first half, both sides came out fighting after the break, and the Cherries opened the scoring on the hour mark through Junior Kroupi.
However, Leeds quickly bounced back and equalised thanks to a James Hill own goal.
From here, after some good chances, Bournemouth retook the lead through Rayan with four minutes to go. However, in the dying seconds, Leeds equalised once again through Sean Longstaff right at the death.
Below, Football Insider has examined Michael Salisbury’s performance in a late Leeds draw before their FA Cup semi-final.

In a lacklustre first half, there was little to separate the two sides, with few chances produced throughout.
However, one of the few opportunities that did arise was when Bournemouth won a free-kick just outside the Leeds box.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin rose to try and win a header against Ryan Christie, where he proceeded to get none of the ball and take out the Bournemouth star.
While Salisbury rightly awarded the hosts a free-kick, he should have given the Leeds man a yellow card for making the challenge in a dangerous position.
David Brooks should have been booked for simulation
In a lively start to the second half, Bournemouth really pushed to get the opener to improve their European ambitions.
One of their best chances came right after the break when Marcus Tavernier played a wonderful ball to David Brooks, who looked to touch it into the net.

However, instead, he went down in the box, with the attacker claiming that Gabriel Gudmundsson had fouled him.
This was simply not true, with there clearly not being enough contact to give a penalty, and his protests were waved away.
Therefore, Salisbury should have given him a yellow card for simulation and awarded Leeds a free-kick.
Bournemouth should have been awarded penalty kick vs Leeds
While Keith Hackett has exclusively expressed his disdain for diving in the Premier League, Brooks should have won a penalty for the hosts.
After previously diving in the match, the attacker found himself inside the Leeds box again when they were 1-0 up.
However, Gudmundsson proceeded to push Brooks over, without winning the ball, to end any chance of a second goal.
While Salisbury may have potentially viewed this as a dive, it was anything but, and should have resulted in a spot-kick for the hosts.
