Bowen tipped to 'reach next level' at Liverpool as pundit 'wowed' by Pearce update

Jarrod Bowen has the “potential” to reach the next level with Liverpool, according to Alan Hutton.

The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, praised the 24-year-old for taking the “step up to the Premier League in his stride”.

Bowen starred on Sunday in a 3-2 win for West Ham over Liverpool, grabbing two assists in an impressive performance.

The former Hull forward’s most impressive moment came when he penetrated Liverpool’s rearguard with a lung-busting run before unleashing Pablo Fornals, who slotted home to give the Hammers a 67th-minute lead.

Klopp confirmed he “likes Bowen a lot” to club media in his pre-match press conference.

According to The Athletic journalist James Pearce (November 7th), “there is certain interest” from the Reds in the West Ham forward.

Hutton praised the Englishman’s growth in confidence and stature this season.

“He’s young, he’s talented – I don’t see why he couldn’t make that move to Liverpool that would be amazing,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“I played against him in the Championship when he was at Hull, wow, he was a real standout performer for them.

“He’s taken the step up to the Premier League in his stride with some outstanding performances, you can see he’s grown in stature and he looks really confident at the moment.

“He has progressed really well and we’ll have to see if he can reach the next level – where there’s pressure to produce week in, week out.

“I think he’s got the potential to do just that.”

Bowen has netted three goals and registered five assists in 17 appearances this season.

West Ham signed the 24-year-old for a reported £22million fee in 2020.
