Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed he could add as many as four players to his squad this summer as he outlined the positions he is targeting.
The northern Irishman is targeting reinforcements in the summer that will strengthen his side in their bid to challenge in the Champions League next season, having once again proven their dominance in Scotland.
He told Celtic fans at a Q&A session that his number one priority this summer was to land a dynamic number eight, while a winger, a defender and a striker could also be on the agenda.
As quoted by the Daily Record, Rodgers said: “We’re covered well in a lot of positions, but I’ve always wanted another midfielder. It has to be someone of real quality, someone who can make a real difference.
“I believe that we need a midfield player who can make a pass and make a difference in the Champions League. We’ll possibly want another striker.

“Whether Patrick Roberts comes back from Manchester City remains to be seen so I believe that I’ll need another winger, with real pace and power and I’ll maybe be looking at one other position in centre half.”
But Rodgers could be after even more fresh talent this summer if they fail to keep hold of the likes of Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney, who are both being coveted by Europe’s elite.
Celtic will have no plans to sell either of their star duo, but the lure of the Premier League could prove to be an intriguing prospect.
Roberts, however, is almost certain to quit the club this summer with his loan deal from Manchester City set to expire at the end of the season.
The 20-year-old winger has ben a phenomenal asset to Celtic, and has contributed five goals and 11 assists from 36 appearances this season.
In other Celtic transfer news, the Hoops are set to battle with two Premier League giants for a 26-year-old winger ripping it up in the league.
