Brighton have fended off competition from Premier League rivals to announce their first signing of the summer transfer window.

18-year-old winger Zadok Yohanna will officially move to Brighton from Swedish side AIK Stockholm when the transfer window opens on June 15th.

The Seagulls finished eighth in the Premier League table, and qualified for the Europa Conference League, in what will be only their second ever appearance in European competition.

Manager Fabian Hurzeler has wasted no time strengthening his squad with the addition of Yohanna, who has five goals and four assists in 18 appearances for AIK Stockholm.

If Yohanna is a success at Brighton, it would highlight another victory in the transfer market for Tony Bloom and Jamestown Analytics, who have a reputation for unearthing gems.

Taking to Instagram, Brighton shared their first images of Yohanna in a home shirt.

Brighton captioned the post, "new kid on the block," which was liked by number one goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

Yohanna went on to have his first interview with club media, saying he was "really happy" to have joined Brighton.

The Seagulls will pay AIK Stockholm around £21.5million for the Nigerian, just days after Newcastle had launched a bid to sign the talented forward.

Brighton set transfer stance on Matt O'Riley

Sources have told Football Insider that Brighton are ready to sell midfielder Matt O'Riley this summer.

Tottenham 'keeping tabs' on Matt O'Riley as Brighton ready to listen to offers with interest 'advanced'

O'Riley only started two Premier League games for Brighton this season, spending the first half of the campaign on loan at Marseille before being recalled in January.

Tottenham are keeping tabs on the situation, as the former Celtic playmaker does not look to be in Hurzeler's long-term plans, and he needs to find regular playing time elsewhere.

O'Riley could move abroad, with Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund also showing interest in signing the 25-year-old, which is reported to be more advanced than Spurs'.

Spurs are managed by former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, who managed O'Riley during his short time at Marseille.
