Exclusive: Brighton in pole position to sign Liverpool star ahead of Leicester
Brighton are in pole position to sign Adam Lallana when his Liverpool contract expires, Football Insider can reveal.
The Seagulls have leapfrogged Leicester City in the race for the 32-year-old midfielder in a surprise twist.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Brighton have edged ahead of Leicester and Lallana’s other main suitors Burnley following discussions with the player.
Football Insider revealed yesterday that Burnley and Brighton have both opened talks with Lallana over signing him on a free.
This twist came after Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Leicester were in discussions with the Anfield star and were confident of agreeing terms.
Brighton manager Graham Potter is a big admirer of Lallana and is keen to tie him to a long-term deal.

He is looking to add more creative flair to his eyecatching side, whose style of player has impressed onlookers this season.
The Seagulls are well placed to secure their Premier League status after drawing five points clear of the relegation zone with three matches remaining.
Lallana is leaving Liverpool after being on the fringes of the team over the last two seasons despite generous praise from Jurgen Klopp during that time.
The England international has stayed fit in this campaign but has made just three Premier League starts among his 22 appearances in all competitions and has failed to make the matchday squad since the restart.
In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that the club are hopeful of clinching two new deals in the coming weeks as one already agreed.
