Liverpool transfer plan saluted by pundit after £15m Neco Williams update
Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Liverpool for their transfer dealings in the summer window so far.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said it would be “brilliant” if the Reds can sell Neco Williams for £15million and sign Calvin Ramsay for almost half the price.
According to the Daily Mail (12 June), Aberdeen are playing hardball with Liverpool over Ramsay.
The Scottish Premiership club are said to want £5million up front with a further £3.5million in add-ons for the 18-year-old right-back.
Ramsay is seen as a potential replacement for Neco Williams, who is likely to exit Anfield permanently this summer.
The Liverpool Echo‘s Ian Doyle reported (7 June) that the club have slapped a £15million price tag on the Wales international who spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham.

Football Insider revealed in March that Williams is keen to join Fulham permanently.
When asked by Football Insider for his view on Ramsay potentially replacing Williams, Robinson said: “Williams is at a stage in his career where he needs to play.
“He needs to move on. He has made it clear that he wants to play regularly.
“If Liverpool can command a fee like that for him, brilliant.
“To then replace him for £8million with a lad who has huge potential is great business. They will make a profit and get a similar player.
“Liverpool’s business in this window has been impressive so far. They have not been caught by surprise.
“They’re aware that certain players want to leave. Players are ready to come in. It is not a window where things have crept up on Liverpool. They have acted smartly.”
