Exclusive: Michael Brown in awe of Spurs rookie who can play multiple roles, tips for big things
Michael Brown has raved about Tottenham starlet Japhet Tanganga and tipped him for big things.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs midfielder explained why the defender is exciting supporters with his potential and is in no doubt he will be even more effective when the club’s injury crisis ends and the team is strong.
Tottenham have failed to win in six matches at a time when they have been deprived of their two main goalscorers, Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, while the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn may not play again this season.
Brown told Football Insider: “It’s always great for the Tottenham supporters when you see a new talent.
“I think what’s impressed, Tanganga, he’s gone in at right-back, he’s played at centre-back and left-back which is a real blessing, that he can cover many, many positions.
“Hopefully he can get stronger and stronger, it will help when obviously the side are doing better, he’s going to look better as well so a few of the players coming back is really going to help Spurs.

“They’re really suffering with injuries at the moment but with regards to Tanganga, he’s done well but maybe in a Spurs side who were a touch better, we might see him improving even more.”
Tanganga has graduated from the Spurs academy to make his first-team bow this season and accumulate 11 senior appearances.
He got the nod to start Tuesday’s Champions League clash against RB Leipzig ahead of the likes of Jan Vertonghen.
