Bruce Exclusive: PL dazzler once valued at £80m may 'Push a move to Arsenal'

Alex Bruce expects Everton target Wilfried Zaha to leave Crystal Palace this summer and suggests he may join Arsenal in a potential cut-price deal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, Bruce delivered his verdict as Everton re-joined the race to sign the 27-year-old.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that the Toffees won’t match their £70m bid for last summer but have been asked to be kept up to date with Zaha’s situation.

Last summer Palace held firm as they valued the Ivory Coast international at £80m.

Asked by Football Insider whether Palace can expect £80m for the prize asset, Bruce said: “I think with the way the pandemic has been everybody’s price tag will have been slashed a little bit because of the way everything has effected everybody.

“There’s also the added thing that there’s another year down the line in his contract running down which will reduce the asking price I’m sure.

“This year, if they were going to sell him, they would maximise the amount they’re going to get for him.

“He obviously wants to leave, he’s made that pretty clear.

“He went to Man United and lived in the North West and didn’t go as well as he wanted it to but he was a lot younger then.

“He might want to stay in London, maybe push a move to Arsenal or someone like that, I know those rumours have been circling.

“Whoever gets him, he’ll be a great acquisition for them.”

Zaha has three years left on his Palace contract after signing a bumper five-year deal in the summer of 2018.

He has scored 57 goals in 362 games in all competitions for Palace.
