Bruce shares sensational summer transfer plans at Aston Villa
By Matt Bullin
Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has revealed he wants to sign four players and expects to let 12 or 13 players go on permanent transfers this summer.
Villa fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat today at Ewood Park as Blackburn took a huge step towards safety.
Danny Graham’s goal was the difference between the sides, but Rovers dominated the match from start to finish.
The defeat leaves Villa 12th in the Championship, which will be regarded as well below par for the side who were relegated from the Premier League last season.
Bruce, who was appointed manager at Villa Park in October of last year following Roberto Di Matteo’s sacking, will sanction a staggering overhaul.

Speaking in the Birmingham Mail, Bruce said of his plans in the forthcoming window: “To let 12 or 13 go in the summer and bring in three or four is my ideal scenario.
“It will be governed, how far we can do that, with people leaving the football club.”
Bruce also stated that he would like to bring in three of four players in the summer.
He outlined why he believes players will want to play for him at Villa, adding: “We have the dangle of playing here.
“Every week you’re playing at Villa Park, one of the great stadiums with one of the great supports.”
Among the Villa players Bruce could be looking to offload are: Carles Gil, Jordan Veretout, Carlos Sanchez, Pierluigi Gollini, Aly Cissokho, Ross McCormack and Aaron Tshibola.
All of which are all currently plying their trade elsewhere away from Villa Park.
Villa have been installed as one of the early favourites for promotion next season, despite having failed in their efforts this time round.
