Newcastle United will not be entertaining even huge offers for Bruno Guimaraes before deadline day, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the 26-year-old is not expected to leave St James’ Park this summer.

Guimaraes has indicated that he’s happy playing for the north east giants, while Eddie Howe won’t contemplate letting him leave so late in the window.

There is interest in the Brazil international from Man City and Arsenal, which has been ongoing throughout the window.

Guimaraes did have a £100million release clause in his contract that could have been activated, but that expired on 30th June.

Newcastle have been planning for the new campaign with Guimaraes as part of the team, and he’s expected to remain that way.

Newcastle will kickstart their new Premier League campaign on Saturday as they host Southampton.

Guimaraes was a vital part of Howe’s team last season as he played in all but one of Newcastle’s Premier League games, plus 13 matches in other competitions.

The midfielder scored seven goals and provided 10 assists throughout the season for the Magpies.
