Alan Hutton has told Bryan Gil to "get out" of Tottenham in January.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back can't see the 21-year-old taking the place of any of Antonio Conte's current attacking options.

Gil was on the bench for the Lilywhites' 3-2 win over Bournemouth on Saturday (29 October) and was subbed on for the final five minutes.

Both Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski are currently sidelined for Spurs and are not expected to make a return until November.

As quoted by football.london (21 October), Conte said he is worried Kulusevski could be absent until after the World Cup.

Lucas Moura is also recovering from a long-term injury but was fit enough to play the second half of the clash against the Cherries.

Even with Tottenham's injury problems Gil has struggled to make a mark on the first team this season.

Hutton insisted the situation is unlikely to improve for the Spaniard.

"Obviously Conte has had a good look at him," he told Football Insider.

"He sees him every day. He looks a little bit lightweight to me for the Premier League. He can make things happen from what I have seen but is he going to work hard defensively? Is he going to get up and down the pitch? Where exactly does he fit in?

"I can’t see him taking a space of Richarlison, Kulusevski, Son [Heung-min] or [Harry] Kane. I think there is a lot of people in front of him.

"So he is probably a player that you are looking at when it comes to January. He is going to have to get out. I do not see that game time coming at all really."
