Burnley and Stoke City are lining up January moves for Sheffield United left-back Rhys Norrington-Davies, Football Insider has learned.
The Premier League and Championship clubs have joined West Brom in the race for the 21-year-old defender, who is currently on loan at Luton Town.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Norrington-Davies is wanted by Burnley and Stoke as they look to strengthen at left-back in the upcoming winter window.
The defender has yet to play for parent club Sheffield United despite starting Wales’ last three matches against Bulgaria, Republic of Ireland and Finland.
He played the full 90 minutes of Wednesday night’s 3-1 Nations League win over Finland as Wales clinched promotion to the competition’s top flight.
Norrington-Davies joined Championship minnows Luton on a season-long loan after spending last season at League One outfit Rochdale.
He has caught the eye with his performances for Nathan Jones’ side and was handed his first Wales call-up last month.
Operating in a wing-back role in Wales’ 3-4-3 formation, Norrington-Davies won rave reviews for his assured performances.
At Luton, the rising star has made nine Championship starts this season as well as started all three of their EFL Cup fixtures.
He also played 34 times for Rochdale in 2019-20.
Norrington-Davies joined Sheffield United from hometown club Swansea City in 2017 but has yet to play for Chris Wilder’s first team and may be interested in a January move.
