'Busy' January in store for Celtic as man with the Midas touch set to green light multiple signings - McAvennie
Frank McAvennie has claimed Ange Postecoglou has the Midas touch on transfers ahead of what could prove to be a busy January for Celtic.
The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, told his former side to trust their manager in the transfer market.
Speaking in 10 November’s press conference, Postecoglou admitted last summer’s transfer window was “way too chaotic” and claimed he would work “more methodically” in January.
Celtic signed 11 players in the summer as they tried to rebuild after a torrid 2020/21.
McAvennie has been wowed by Postecoglou’s “laid back” approach to the transfer window ahead of what he hopes is a busy January.
“Of course he was batting away questions,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s so laid back he’s horizontal. Ange always says all the right things.
“He is concerned about Celtic and nothing else, that’s why he has won the manager of the month award.
“You look at Ange and what he’s done. Celtic don’t know anything about those players in Japan.
“Ange knows loads by the looks of things, he has made some cracking transfers.
“So, in January, let him pick the players and go and sign them. It’s that simple.
“I think Celtic should trust him after signings like Kyogo and Jota. Hopefully it’s a busy few weeks.”
Celtic sit four points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
However, the Gers have suffered a crushing blow with Steven Gerrard departing for Aston Villa.
