Pajtim Kasami’s time at Nottingham Forest appears to be over after bidding farewell to the UK on his Facebook account.
The 24-year-old has spent the season on loan from Greek club Olympiakos but has failed to make an appearance for the Reds since mid-February.
Kasami took to his personal Facebook page to post a picture of himself on a plane in which he simply said ‘bye bye’ next to a picture of the flag of the United Kingdom.
The former Fulham midfielder has only made three Championship appearances in 2017 despite scoring against the Cottagers in February.
Mark Warburton named the out-going Swiss international on the bench in his first game in charge of the club against Derby, but since then, Kasami has been completely left out of any sort of first-team involvement with the east Midlands outfit.
Kasami made 27 appearances for Forest in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and supplying two assists.
He missed just two games under Philippe Montannier’s time in charge of the club and his drop in playing time coincided with the Frenchman’s sacking.
The on-loan Olympiakos man now looks set to return to Greece having already made 66 appearances for the club.
Forest end their season against Ipswich on Sunday and could face relegation to League One if results do not go their way.
Football Insider Verdict
It’s obvious that Kasami was never going to a part of Warburton or Gary Brazil’s plans at the City Ground ever since he was axed from the squad almost as soon as Montannier was sacked. The 12-times Switzerland international could have been a top player for the Reds as he looked like a good prospect in his spell at Fulham, where he made 38 Premier League appearances. However his latest Facebook post makes no secret that his time at Forest is over and it will probably leave a sour taste in the mouths of Forest fans who have been angered by how their team have performed this season.
