Campbell: Arsenal are hiding Aubameyang and Lacazette problems - and here's the proof
Kevin Campbell insists something is happening behind the scenes at Arsenal after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette missed their game against Brentford.
The Gunners icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the absence of the key players against the Bees.
Just hours before Friday’s game, Arsenal tweeted that Aubameyang and Lacazette would miss the game through illness.
The Gunners went on to lose the game 2-0 and looked toothless up-front.
Last season, Aubameyang was struck down with Malaria and the club shared statements regarding the issue.
This time, there has been no such explanation by the club and Campbell claims this proves there is more going on behind the scenes.

“You start with the striker fiasco,” Campbell told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“On the day you find out they are ill and you know there’s more to it because all of a sudden the club are keeping quiet about it.
“Here’s the great thing about football, it has a way of repeating itself.
“Aubameyang was ill last season and the club came out and said it was Malaria straight away.
“All of a sudden, first game of the season your captain and his strike partner are out of the team and there’s nothing.
“That’s where it starts and it’s a really bad sign, something is going on in the background.
“Whatever it is, it’s not good.”
Arsenal were firmly on the back foot against Brentford as they lost their opening game of the season.
The Gunners have the chance to make amends for the result against Chelsea next weekend.
