Campbell: Arsenal have dropped major hint over Saliba future after confirmed news
Arsenal are preparing for the return of William Saliba by sanctioning exits for Sead Kolasinac and Pablo Mari, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Gunners and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said Mikel Arteta “has to box a bit clever” prior to next season.
Speaking to club media (19 January), Arteta confirmed that both Kolasinac and Mari would be leaving the Emirates in search of regular game time.
Arsenal mutually terminated Kolasinac’s contract, which expired in the summer, to allow the 28-year-old to join Marseille.
Mari, 28, has joined Udinese on loan for the remainder of the season.
His contract with the Gunners runs until the summer of 2024.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his thoughts on the departures, Campbell said: “Kolasinac was a deal waiting to happen.
“His fate has been sealed since last January. Kolasinac is a player who missed the boat in regards to leaving the club last year. Now he has got his exit.
“I wish him well. The football club needs to move on.
“Pablo Mari is a slightly different one though. He needs to play football. He deserves to play regular football. He’s not been getting a chance at Arsenal really.
“You have to remember that Saliba will be coming back next season. Arteta has to box a bit clever and prepare for that. Saliba will come in and fill the void next season.”
