Arsenal may spend big this summer amid “rumours” of the Kroenkes wanting to show supporters they’re serious about taking the club forward.

That is according to former Gunners and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the possibility of another bid from Daniel Ek being accepted by Stan Kroenke.

Spotify billionaire Daniel Ek wants to buy Arsenal and has the backing of club legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira.

Bergkamp told Dutch publication Voetbal International [via the Evening Standard] that Ek has “reached out twice” over a potential takeover to no avail.

However, the ex-striker insisted they would not cease in their efforts to buy the club and said: “We are here to stay.”

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if there was renewed hope of a takeover after Dennis Bergkamp’s comments, Campbell said: “No, no, no.

“They’re going nowhere, not even at £2billion.

“I would love to get my hopes up and think about a takeover. I want to see the club moving forward with an owner who really cares but I just cannot see it happening.

“I’ve heard rumours that the Kroenkes want to show the Arsenal fans that they are serious.

“What better way to do that than in the transfer market. They have a big opportunity this summer, after all of the protests, to show the fans that they are serious. It would be very nice.”
