Arsenal have been backed to sign former Tottenham favourite Christian Eriksen in January by Kevin Campbell.
The former Highbury striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, insisted he “does not care” that the 28-year-old played for Arsenal’s rivals and would welcome him to the Emirates if signed.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport report Inter boss Antonio Conte would consider a swap deal between Eriksen and Gunners midfielder Granit Xhaka.
Eriksen made 305 appearances for Spurs in a seven-year spell at the club, capturing the heart of fans with his 89 assists and 69 goals.
This site revealed earlier this month that intermediaries have offered the Denmark international to Jose Mourinho’s side as well as other leading Premier League sides.
When asked by Football Insider if he would welcome the signing of Christian Eriksen at Arsenal, Campbell said:
“Eriksen played for the rivals but we all know the quality he possesses, that is for sure.
“It is not quite working out for him at Inter Milan right now and I am sure he would be a good addition to Arsenal’s squad.
“I do not care if he played for Spurs – he is a superb player who can bring something to the table for Arsenal.
“I would not mind it if we swapped Eriksen for Xhaka. The key is building and fattening that squad up to challenge and you can never have enough quality players.”
