Campbell delivers bold verdict on Arsenal re-signing Szczesny after Leno latest
Kevin Campbell has urged Arsenal to reject the chance to re-sign Wojciech Szczesny from Juventus this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker claimed the club should “look forward” instead because it is “always difficult” to come back to the Emirates and succeed.
According to Guardian, Mikel Arteta’s current number one, Bernd Leno, could depart this summer.
It is said the player has given no indication behind the scenes that he wants to stay beyond his current contract which is due to expire in 2023.
The Mirror suggest Szczesny who made 181 appearances for the Gunners between 2008 and 2015, could be signed to replace the Germany international.
As quoted by the Metro earlier this week, Arteta remained coy when asked about the possibility of re-signing of the 31-year-old Poland international.

When asked by Football Insider if he would welcome Szczesny back to the Emirates this summer, Campbell said: “I don’t want him back.
“He has gone away and done very well wherever he has been but I do not like to go back.
“I like to look forward and I think there are other goalkeepers we should target in the summer.
“The legacy of a goalkeeper coming in who can make the spot his own is important. When you come back to the club it is always difficult, especially at Arsenal.
“His first spell at Arsenal wasn’t amazing, let’s be honest.”
