Kevin Campbell has claimed Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey and Norwich City’s Max Aarons would both be exciting Arsenal summer replacements for Hector Bellerin.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners striker also heaped praise on Cedric Soares and suggested he has shown enough to warrant becoming the club’s first choice right-back if Bellerin was to exit.
Cedric replaced Bellerin in the starting XI on Sunday as Mikel Arteta’s beat Leicester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.
CBS Sports claim Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Bellerin, 25, this summer, having failed with a bid to sign him last year.
The report also states the London club have identified Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey and Norwich City’s Max Aarons as potential replacements for the Spain international.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the two English right-backs, Campbell said: “I think both Lamptey and Aarons are good players.
“They each have their pluses and minus were they to come to Arsenal.
“I am not so sure if we need to sign a big name right-back though, even if Bellerin leaves.
“Cedric has done a sterling job at right-back and left-back so I am not too sure what Mikel Arteta will do in that position.
“If he signed either of those players it would be great for Arsenal but I am unsure if that is what the manager would want to do.”
