Campbell Exclusive: Arsenal may sign 'Serial winner' on pre-contract after huge Bild reveal
Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng would be the ideal replacement for David Luiz at Arsenal, according to Kevin Campbell.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Gunners striker claimed that the 32-year-old, who is a “serial winner”, is the type of character needed at the Emirates.
According to BILD, Mikel Arteta’s side sensationally considered a move for the Germany international in the summer and “still have their eye” on his situation in Munich.
Boateng has just 7 and a half months to run on his deal at the Allianz Arena and the Gunners could sign the centre-half on a pre-contract in January.
Campbell suggested the World Cup winner could help Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba realise their potential.
“You can never have enough quality and you can never have enough players who have done it at the top level,” he told Football Insider.

“Looking to maybe recruit someone like Jerome Boateng shows where the club is at.
“Gabriel and Saliba would benefit from having somebody like Boateng at the club. I am not sure how long David Luiz will be at the club so Jerome Boateng could be that experienced player who helps others fulfil their potential.
“Arsenal need characters. They need strong characters who have been there and done it at the top level. Jerome Boateng is certainly one.
“If you put it out to the Arsenal fan base they will say, ‘Oh he is too old.’ But beggars cannot be choosers and we need experience. He is a serial winner.”
