Campbell hits back at Ian Wright over Arsenal star Partey after BBC swipe
Kevin Campbell has leaped to the defence of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey amid criticism from club legend Ian Wright.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gunners and Everton striker said there is a “burden” on Partey’s shoulders because of how “amazing” a player he is.
Partey struggled on Saturday as Mikel Arteta’s side laboured to a goalless draw at Brighton.

“You cannot always play well. It is important to consider that he has only just come back from injury really.
“Everyone realises what an amazing player he is so the burden goes on his shoulders. He is strong enough to carry it but there are not many players who had a good game.
“Let’s get it straight, nobody was even half as good as they were against Spurs.
“Sometimes you just have to accept it and move on. In the past, Arsenal would have lost that game.
“It was not Thomas Partey’s best game but he was still there fighting at the end of the 90 minutes. Sometimes that is all you can ask from your players.”
