Campbell slam Man United 'not good enough' as Solskjaer fumes over incident
Aston Villa could have had no qualms if Kortney Hause’s winner against Man United was ruled out by VAR.
That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the controversial decision in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
Ollie Watkins appeared to impede David de Gea from an offside position moments before Hause gave Villa the lead.
The goal proved pivotal in the end with the game finishing 1-0 to the visitors.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fumed over the decision to not rule out the goal that “was clearly offside.”
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the incident, Campbell said:

“Listen, the player is there so if it was given offside I don’t think Aston Villa would’ve complained.
“What I would say though is that he was not directly in the line of sight of the ball. That is why I think they gave the goal.
“Although the player is there, the ball goes in at the near post. It was not as if the player was impeding De Gea’s line of sight.
“It’s a tough one for United to take but I can understand why the goal was allowed to stand. Man United deserved to lose at the end of the day. They simply weren’t good enough.”
