Campbell 'loves' what he's just heard about West Ham star Bowen

Kevin Campbell has claimed West Ham attacker Jarrod Bowen “is destined for the top”.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker heaped praise on Bowen, 24, for making sacrifices in order to improve his game.

Bowen ended a 16-game goal drought on Sunday as West Ham lost at home to Brentford.

According to The Athletic‘s Roshane Thomas, the winger opted against going on holiday last summer to improve upon his fitness.

A £22million signing from Hull City, Bowen has established himself as one of the first names on the team-sheet at the London Stadium.

His form is said to have attracted the interest of Premier League giants Liverpool and Tottenham.

When asked by Football Insider if Bowen can be one of the best in the Premier League, Campbell said:

“If he is making those sort of adjustments [extra training] in order to get better I think he is destined for the top.

“You really need to put the work in to get to that next level. You have to work tirelessly and make sacrifices.

“I love hearing that he has sacrificed his holidays to work on himself. That’s really important. Well done to Bowen.

“You can see that he has great ability and let’s not forget that he is still a young man.

“It was good to see him get his goal the other day. I’m sure it will be the first of many this season.”
