Campbell: Leeds could be about to complete 'great' Brereton signing
Blackburn forward Ben Brereton would be a “great” signing for Leeds United this summer, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Rovers and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 22-year-old’s versatility in forward areas could be a real asset to Marcelo Bielsa’s side next season.
According to Chilean news outlet Red Gol (June 23rd), Bielsa has held a long-term interest in bringing the Chile international to Elland Road.
Brereton has just one year left on his contract at Ewood Park
But Lancashire Live have reported that Blackburn have been in contact with the player’s representatives about extending his deal.
When asked by Football Insider if Brereton would be a welcome addition at Elland Road, Campbell said:

“Listen, he’s a centre-forward who can play out wide so that could be useful to Leeds. It’s great that he’s added that to his game.
“He has lost his ways a little bit at times but he knows where the goal is, that’s for sure.
“He has a big reputation as a youngster. I think it could be an amazing move.
“Leeds are adding the right type of players. People who have a point to prove. It’s clever from Bielsa.”
Brereton has contributed nine goals and nine assists in 88 appearances across all competitions for Tony Mowbray’s side.
He has made five appearances for Chile, with all of them coming in this years’s Copa America.
