Jorge Grant has taken to Twitter to say that he “can’t wait” for next season to start after signing a new deal with Nottingham Forest.

A statement on the Reds’ official club website on Monday confirmed that the midfielder has penned a fresh three-year contract which will keep him at the City Ground until 2020.

It didn’t take long for Grant, 22, to take to social media after the news had been broken, and now he is beginning to look forward to his future with the East Midlands outfit.

“Buzzing to sign a new 3 year contract with Nottingham Forest,” he said on his personal Twitter account on Monday.

“Can’t wait for the new season to start and kick on.”

Grant is a product of Forest’s youth academy and has made a total of 20 first team appearances for the Championship club, with his only goal coming at White Hart Lane in a 3-1 League Cup loss to Tottenham in 2014.

He played six times before he was sent on loan to Notts County in League Two this season, where me made 17 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and supplying three assists as he helped the Magpies avoid relegation to the non-league.

The Nottingham Post have reported that County were looking for a second deal for Grant, but there was also interest from Wigan and Bristol City.

Grant plays predominately as a central midfielder but is also adept at playing on either wing or in a No 10 role behind a striker.
