Fabio Cardoso: This Rangers player is the business, it is incredible to be his teammate

Rangers summer signing Fabio Cardoso is convinced that “incredible” centre-back partner Bruno Alves can help him develop into a key player for the club.
Manager Pedro Caixinha has chosen the Portugese pair as the team’s first-choice central defensive partnership in the early weeks of the season after offloading Rob Kiernan and Clint Hill over the summer as well as demoting Danny Wilson.
Alves, 35, is a 93-times Portugal international and has been named in his country’s squad for their World Cup qualifier double-header this week.
Cardoso, 23, has vowed to soak up as much as he can from a team-mate with vast experience after signing from Vitoria Setubal for £1.5million this summer.
He told Rangers TV: “Bruno’s very good. He’s a very good player – one of the best centre-backs from my country.

“I am learning a lot and I know I will learn and grow as a player the more I play beside Bruno.
“He’s very good with the ball and without it. He’s very good with the physical side and the tactical parts.
“For me it is incredible to play alongside Bruno.”
The Light Blues got back to winning ways on Sunday against Ross County as they battled to a 3-1 win.
It was a welcome result after defeat to Hibernian and a draw with Hearts saw the Ibrox men spill five of the first nine points available to them.
The victory lifted Rangers to fifth in the Scottish Premiership table with a haul of seven points from four games this season.
