Ceiran Loney must have caught David Moyes’ eye as Everton gem continues to shine
Ceiran Loney could be the next exciting talent to rise through the ranks at Everton after yet another impressive academy display.
The 18-year-old forward has been causing chaos in both the Under-18s and Under-21s leagues in the 2025-26 campaign, but saving his best performance for Man City U18s on Saturday, 9 May.
Before the weekend, Loney had notched seven goals in the U18 Premier League, while also bagging an assist against Wolves, and he has now added to that record in a 5-3 win.
David Moyes will always be on the lookout for new talent, with goalkeeper George Pickford expected to impress for the Toffees in the future, and the manager simply cannot ignore the young striker now.

Premier League clubs continue to produce new and exciting talents. Man City have Nico O’Reilly. Arsenal have Max Dowman. And Liverpool have Rio Ngumoha.

There is absolutely no reason why Loney can’t be added to that list of talented names, who have all made their presence known in the senior game, despite their ages.
David Moyes could end careers with academy call-ups
There are multiple players in the first team that, despite Everton’s push for European football this season, have failed to impress throughout the 2025-26 campaign.
One of them is Tyler Dibling. Of course, he is very young himself at 20 years of age, but any future debuts for Everton’s talents could be a warning sign to those who struggle under Moyes’ leadership.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Dibling could already be tempted to leave Everton after just 17 appearances for the Toffees, and it wouldn’t be cheap to replace him this summer.
Giving a chance to the likes of Loney could signify the end for the former Southampton talent already, and ultimately, the 18-year-old deserves a chance to prove himself to Moyes.
