Celtic will need to sign another goalscorer once Odsonne Edouard leaves the club – and they likely have a target already lined up.

That is according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Sun reported on 7th June that Leicester City have agreed a £15million fee for Edouard.

This site revealed on Tuesday that the Frenchman has agreed personal terms with the Foxes and told friends he is set to leave Parkhead.

The 23-year-old looks set to reunite with form Parkhead boss Brendan Rodgers at the King Power.

Edouard has been the Hoops’ top-scorer in each of their last three seasons.

Kenny claims that Celtic will be happy with the fee and will already be eyeing another striker who can hit Edoard’s goalscoring heights.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “They’ll feel very lucky if they get that much for him. That’s a lot of money.

“I’m sure they’ll reinvest that money on someone else who can get them 20 goals a season because they need to start challenging Rangers again.

“They need to strengthen properly and get someone in who can replace his 20 goals in a season. If they don’t, they are in trouble next season again.

“I’m sure they’ve been planning and will already have their next striker in mind lined up for if or when Edouard does leave.”

Edouard signed from Paris Saint-Germain for £9m in 2018.

He has netted 83 times in 168 appearances during his time in Glasgow.
