Celtic’s bid to land talented Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson is off as Jurgen Klopp would demand a hefty fee if he didn’t play, according to a report.
The Daily Record claims that Celtic had hoped to hijack a potential Rangers deal but that looks to be dead in the water.
Celtic will not guarantee game time – as was seen when Brendan Rodgers kept Chelsea youngster Charley Musonda out of the side.
That could leave the door open for Rangers who might well be in a position to give Liverpool the assurances they want over the player.
The 21-year-old is in demand though and there’s no guarantee Rangers will bag him, with Middlesbrough, Leeds, Norwich and Stoke all interested.
However, it looks like Celtic have been nudged aside and there’s no doubt that Wilson would be a huge hit at Ibrox.
