Celtic consider re-igniting interest in £10m-valued international striker - report
By Danny Wright
Celtic could be set to re-ignite their interest in Rubin Kazan striker Sardar Azmoun as Brendan Rodgers looks to add another striker to his squad, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claims that the Hoops may begin to take a close look at Azmoun, 22, even though Patrick Roberts is said to be less than 24 hours away from sealing his return to Parkhead on a season-long loan move from Manchester City.
It is understood that international striker Azmoun is valued at £10million by Rubin Kazan, and although Rodgers is considering re-entering the race to sign him, the Celtic boss may be put off by the hefty price tag.
The report adds that a loan swoop for the 26-times Iran international is a more likely option while the Bhoys are also looking at out-of-favour players south of the border in England.
Azmoun, who only re-signed for Kazan in July after a spell at Rostov, is yet to find the net in seven appearances for Kazan this season in the top-flight of Russian football.

However he has only started in two of those matches, suggesting that he isn’t been given enough of a chance to find the net regularly.
Football Insider Verdict
Celtic could definitely do with another striker but they shouldn’t have to spend £10million for someone who could be third choice behind Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele. Essentially, the Hoops only need someone else to help them out in the Champions League group stages, which they look to be able to progress to this week. Azmoun is a solid player, but he isn’t as reliable in front of goal as the existing Parkhead strikers. A loan move would be better for all parties and Celtic should try and work in a way to extend his deal if they manage to qualify for the knock-out rounds of the Champions League of Europa League by the time winter comes around.
